Terms of Service

Welcome to MEADOWS. By downloading, installing, or using the MEADOWS desktop application and related services (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Service Description

MEADOWS is a desktop gaming platform for Windows that provides:

• Real-time messaging (direct messages and group conversations)
• Friend management and presence tracking
• Game detection and status sharing
• File, image, and GIF sharing
• Overlay functionality for in-game access

The Service is currently in alpha/beta development. Features may change, be removed, or be unavailable at any time without prior notice.

2. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must register an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction)
• Not create multiple accounts to circumvent bans or restrictions

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. MEADOWS reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Harass, abuse, threaten, or impersonate other users
• Distribute malware, viruses, or malicious code
• Send spam, phishing, or unsolicited commercial messages
• Share content that is illegal, obscene, or infringing on intellectual property rights
• Attempt to circumvent security measures or access unauthorized data
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without explicit permission
• Violate any applicable local, national, or international laws

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit through the Service (messages, files, images). By submitting content, you grant MEADOWS a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

MEADOWS does not claim ownership of your messages, files, or personal data. You are solely responsible for the content you share and the consequences of sharing it.

5. Intellectual Property

MEADOWS, including its name, logo, branding, application code, website, and all associated designs, is the intellectual property of MEADOWS. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the Service without prior written consent.

6. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with or link to third-party services (GIF providers, game databases, etc.). MEADOWS is not responsible for the content, availability, or privacy practices of these third-party services.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. MEADOWS DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MEADOWS AND ITS DEVELOPERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

10. Termination

MEADOWS may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, including but not limited to violations of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

11. Changes to Terms

MEADOWS reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to the jurisdiction where MEADOWS operates. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing legal action.
