Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information MEADOWS collects, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding your data.

2. How We Use Your Information

All data collected is used exclusively to provide and improve the MEADOWS Service:

• Authentication: Your email and password are used to identify you and secure your account
• Messaging: Messages and files you send are transmitted to the intended recipients only
• Presence: Your online status and current game are shared with friends you've accepted
• Device Sessions: We track active sessions so you can see and manage where you're logged in
• Security: Usage data helps us detect abuse, enforce bans, and protect the platform

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

Message Privacy

MEADOWS does not read, monitor, scan, or analyze your private messages. Conversations are stored solely to deliver them to the intended recipients. We do not:

• Use automated systems to scan or filter message content
• Train AI models on your conversations
• Sell conversation data to advertisers or data brokers
• Share your messages with third parties
• Log conversations for purposes other than delivery

Server administrators may access conversation data only through the admin panel for moderation purposes (e.g., investigating reported abuse). This access is restricted to authorized administrators and logged for accountability.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers with industry-standard security measures:

• Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
• All network traffic between the app and server uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Refresh tokens are encrypted on your device using Windows DPAPI
• Uploaded files are stored securely and accessible only to conversation participants
• Administrative access is restricted to authorized personnel only

4. Data Retention

• Messages and files: Retained until you delete the conversation or your account
• Account information: Retained until you delete your account
• Device sessions: Retained until you log out or the session expires
• Login/logs: Retained for a reasonable period for security purposes

When you delete your account, your messages remain for other conversation participants but are no longer associated with your identity. Your personal data (email, password hash, profile) is permanently deleted.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data stored by MEADOWS
• Correction: Update your profile information at any time in the Settings panel
• Deletion: Delete your account and associated personal data
• Export: Request an export of your messages and data
• Withdraw Consent: Stop using the Service at any time

6. Game Detection

MEADOWS can detect what game you are currently playing on your PC. This feature:

• Runs entirely on your device
• Only shares your current game with friends you've accepted
• Does not upload or transmit your full process list
• Can be disabled at any time by stopping the Game Detection service

7. Cookies and Tracking

The MEADOWS desktop application does not use cookies or browser-based tracking. The MEADOWS website uses essential session cookies only for the admin panel login. We do not use analytics, advertising cookies, or third-party trackers on our website or in our application.

8. Third-Party Services

MEADOWS integrates with the following third-party services:

• Resend: Used to send verification emails and password reset codes
• KLIPY (GIPHY): GIF search and display within chat

These services process data according to their own privacy policies. MEADOWS proxies GIF requests through our server to protect your IP address.

9. Children's Privacy

MEADOWS is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the application or by email.
